Daydawn (2016)

Dongara Marine provided the wheelhouse and internal fitout for this landmark Western Australian commercial boatbuilding.

Daydawn Fisheries, which is run and managed by two members of a third generation fishing family, began planning for the new vessel in February 2015 and had a delivery requirement of January 2016.

This is an extremely tight delivery schedule for an all new, custom-designed boat, made even more challenging by the fact that the vessel was the largest of its type built in Australia to date.

To achieve this, the owners assembled a design and build team consisting of Southerly Designs, Xtreme Marine, and Dongara Marine.

Demonstrating Dongara Marine’s ability to work seamlessly with clients and other contractors on the construction of an advanced vessel, Daydawn was built in just eight months and completed in full compliance with the schedule.

Dongara Marine’s contribution to the project included manufacture of the superstructure using advanced resin-infused composite techniques; paint work; and internal fitout of the accommodation which includes four cabins sleeping up to 11 persons.

The internal and external finish achieved by our in-house fitout personnel is of a standard more normally associated with high-end pleasure boats. This enables the crew to live in exceptional conditions whilst staying onboard at sea.

“The internal and external finish achieved by Dongara Marine’s in-house fitout personnel is of a standard more normally associated with high-end pleasure boats.”
