Best SAR RIB and Best Lobster Boat awards to Dongara Marine and Southerly Designs
International maritime publishing company Baird Maritime has awarded Dongara Marine two awards for our boatbuilding achievements for the third year in a row.
Two of the vessels we delivered in 2019 (Poppa G and Jetwave Stanley Point) were awarded 'Ausmarine Best of 2019 Awards' in 2020 (read more here) and Baird Maritime adjudged Force of Nature as the Best Lobster Boat and MV Tricia as the Best Small Ferry for 2020 (read more here). In February we were delighted to learn of Baird Maritime Awards for two vessels from 2021:
Announcing Raging Bull as the Best Lobster Boat, Baird Maritime said:
"Elegant, efficient boats arise from the convenient collaboration between Dongara Marine, a builder that originated in the West Australian (WA) lobster fishing industry more than 50 years ago, and Southerly Designs, now renowned globally, particularly throughout Asia, for its crew/supply, patrol boat, ferries and leisure boats.
This beautiful lobster boat is a classic example arising from that collaboration, having been delivered to a very experienced South Australian (SA) fisherman."
