Best Lines Boat and Best Lobster Boat awards to Dongara Marine and Southerly Designs
Not one but two of the vessels we delivered last year have been awarded 'Ausmarine Best of 2019 Awards' by Baird Maritime.
On January 17, the Australia-based international maritime publishing company announced Jetwave Stanley Point as the Best Line Boat for 2019. In its appraisal Baird Maritime said:
"Jetwave Stanley Point is a quintessential Southerly Designs / Dongara Marine collaboration ... The boat shows all the attributes of their creators: elegance, utility, simplicity ruggedness and, very importantly, economy. It does exactly what it was designed to do with a minimum of fuss."

Five days later Poppa G was announced as having been judged the Best Lobster Boat for 2019. Baird Maritime commented that:
"Poppa G is a lot more than just a big fast lobster boat. She can also operate as a 12-passenger offshore crew/supply boat and as a 70-passenger smooth water tourist boat. Her owner, Port Denison-based Bass Marine, has a boat with many strings to its bow.
"Designed and built by the renowned Southerly Designs / Dongara Marine combination, Poppa G is a classic example of that group’s many talents.
"The biggest, flashest, most multi purpose and technologically complex cray fishing vessel ever constructed in Western Australia, Poppa G has bells and whistles on its bells and whistles."
