With decades of involvement with the fishing industry in Port Denison / Dongara, we at Dongara Marine are pleased to be sponsoring the traditional Blessing of the Fleet.
The Dongara Professional Fishermen's Association is holding its annual Blessing of the Fleet on 11 January 2020, and we are proud to be a sponsor of this long held tradition, which includes the vessel parade.
Fishermen have donated thousands of dollars to the community over the years from monies received from nomination fees paid for them to participate in the Blessing of the Fleet vessel parade. During the parade decorated boats are judged in two categories: Best Dressed Boat and Best Novelty / Themed Boat.
The colour of the parade helps to make the event a fun, family affair as do the markets by the jetty which include a range of food options and a bouncy castle for the kids. It's all topped off by fireworks from 8pm. We hope to see you there!
