Berkeley

Berkeley

The very first Berkeley Class Pilot Launch was built on spec by Director John Fitzhardinge. This was done to break into the Australian Pilot Boat Market with a “Proven Design”. With the combination of a composite wheelhouse and an aluminium hull a brilliant new design was launched.
The removable wheelhouse allows for the engines to be mounted directly below for a much better performing boat. At 19.2m overall it one of the largest pilot vessels produced in Australia. This larger vessel allows for a more comfortable and drier ride making for a much safer working environment for crew and passengers.
The Berkeley is currently working out of the busy Port of Fremantle with over 3000 hours logged in the first 12months. Fremantle skippers have had the boat up to 32kts into 35kts of wind during trials. The Berkeley is able to conduct safe transfers in any weather conditions that the ships can be birthed in the harbour.
